The web timer allows readers to track and log their reading in real time. When the web timer is enabled on a site, it is available to readers enrolled in challenges with minutes as their log type, as well as challenges that include reviews and/or activities in addition to minutes. When those readers go to log reading on the web, they will see the option to start a reading timer, in addition to other available log types.
After selecting "Start A Reading Timer," readers will be taken to a virtual timer set to 00:00. Clicking "Start Reading" will start recording the reading time.
Readers can start, pause, restart, and reset the timer during a reading session. There is no limit to how long the timer can run. Once they are finished reading, they can click "I'm Done Reading" to be taken to the log reading screen.
From here, they will see the minutes they read during their timed reading session under "Time Spent Reading." They can also choose to launch a new timer (from 00:00) from the log screen by clicking "Start Timer." Readers can also edit their reading time, select a prior day on the calendar, add book information like title and author, and include a review before saving their session by clicking "Log."
