If you would like to enable or disable the Friends and Leaderboards feature, which allows your patrons to add friends and track their reading activity on your library's Beanstack site, follow the steps below. Note that you can choose to enable or disable the ability to add friends, display leaderboards, and display friends' logged books separately. Also note that library account creators under the age of 13 are unable to access Friends and Leaderboards.*
- Log in as a library administrator and navigate to Setup > Site Settings.
- Scroll down to the three Friends and Leaderboards options—Display Friends, Display Leaderboards, and Display Logged Books To Friends— and check or uncheck each box to activate or deactivate the features.
- Click Save.
- If you activated Leaderboards, a new Leaderboard Options tab will appear under Setup. From here, you can select which log type(s) your leaderboard will display: Books and/or Minutes. Note that you will only want to check off the log type(s) that you have active on your site.
- Click Save!
*Readers under the age of 13 will still have access to Friends as long as our system determines that they are not the account creator (i.e., there is an older reader on the account).
