Challenge Guidelines
Prize Eligibility

To be eligible for prizes from Beanstack, you must set up your challenge according to the guidelines below by December 15, 2023:
- You must be a school currently using Beanstack

You must create your Winter Reading Challenge from one of the templates below:
- Winter Reading 2024: Where We Come From (Schools, Lerner Title and Activities)
- Winter Reading 2024: Where We Come From (Schools, No Activities)
- Winter Reading 2024: Where We Come From (Schools, Lerner Title and Activities)
- Note: by participating in this challenge, participants agree to allow their school's name to be publicly announced if they are selected as a winner.
Time Frame
- The official Winter Reading Challenge runs from Jan. 1–31, 2024. You can run your challenge prior to and/or past January if you choose, but only reading logged from Jan. 1–31 will count toward prizes.
Challenge Name
- Your challenge name must include “Where We Come From.”
Badges
- The challenge includes logging badges, activity badges, a registration badge, and a completion badge.

Log Type
- Your reading challenge can track books, minutes, pages, or days read.
Winter Reading 2024 Artwork
All Winter Reading 2024 badges are available in the “Winter Reading 2024: Where We Come From” badge group within Beanstack’s challenge setup.
You will find all images, including individual badges and the challenge banner, available for download at this link. You have our permission to use these images to promote Winter Reading 2024 at your school!
Newsletter Blurb
From Jan. 1 to Jan. 31, [insert school name] is participating in “Where We Come From,” a Winter Reading Challenge sponsored by Beanstack. We challenge our school community to read at least [insert goal] during the month and keep track of their reading on our Beanstack site at [yoursite.beanstack.org or insert directions for logging in at your school] or on the Beanstack mobile app.
Thousands of other libraries and schools across the nation are joining in too, for a chance at winning cash prizes for their community. Happy reading, [insert community name]!

We will determine winners based on many factors, including:
- Active participation: Based on the percentage of enrolled readers who actively participate in your challenge.
- Logging stats: How many minutes, books, and activities your readers log.
- Community sharing: We appreciate you spreading the love of reading with your school community—virtually and at school or the library! Posting about #WinterRead2024 and #WhereWeComeFrom on social media will give you a boost!

What is available?
We created marketing materials for you to promote your challenge, including bookmarks, social media sharing images, flyers, posters, and postcards. Marketing materials are available in English, Spanish, and without copy.
How Do I Access Marketing Materials for WRC2024?
All of the marketing materials are available for download. Simply click on the file below to download the materials for your school!

Once you open the Dropbox file, click the Download dropdown button and select Direct Download to download the materials to your computer. Next, open the zip file downloaded to your computer.
By opening the zip file, the original file will appear in your downloads. From there, you can open the images you would like to use.
