The sky is the limit when it comes to your reading challenge! You have multiple reading challenge options within Beanstack, including:
- Our traditional reading challenges award badges for logging reading (by minutes or books) for any book, completing activities, and/or writing book reviews.
- Bingo reading challenges let you organize logging, activity, and review badges on a bingo card, and then award a bingo badge when students earn all the badges in a row, column, or diagonal, and can also include an additional full card badge for earning all the badges on the card.
- Reading list challenges award badges for logging reading (by minutes or books) for the books within the challenge's set reading list, and can also award activity badges. You can add links to the included titles so that students can access reading content and e-resources directly from the challenge.
- Reading validation challenges are a specific type of reading list challenge where students can only log the reading list titles as complete if they answer comprehension questions correctly.
- Short Stacks reading challenges are reading list challenges that include short and high-interest nonfiction stories created specifically for students in grades 3–5, available to read directly in the Beanstack app.
- Ebook reading challenges are reading list challenges available for each grade or grade range that include three curated ebooks for students to read directly in Beanstack. They are centered around engaging themes like space science or sports.
We create a host of reading challenge templates in all of these challenge types, including:
- Seasonal challenge templates for each month, based on themes like Black History Month, Fall Into Reading, and more
- Yearlong challenge templates
- Sponsored challenge templates for Summer Reading and Winter Reading
- Evergreen challenge templates like 100 Books Before Middle School, AP English, and more
- Challenge templates with picks from popular authors featured on The Reading Culture podcast
