With premium-level Beanstack service, your library catalog is integrated with your Beanstack site and your readers can receive weekly emails with personalized book recommendations.
When registering on a premium-level site, new readers are asked if they would like to receive personalized recommendations after filling out their registration information.
If they do not select to receive recommendations at registration and change their mind later, or if the library upgrades to premium service after they register, readers can opt to receive book recommendations through their Beanstack account at any time by following the steps below.
- Once signed in, readers can click their name in the top-right corner of their screen and click the pencil icon to the right of their name to edit their reader preferences.
- From there, they can select Yes under the Personalized Recommendations section, and then Save.
Before or after a reader has enabled personalized recommendations, they will need to fill out their preferences via the Reading Doorways link in order to get relevant books suggested for them. If they have not filled out their preferences, they will be prompted to do so when they navigate to their Recommendations tab, but will still receive generic book recommendations.
Readers can select their preferred character backgrounds, reading level, interests, and favorite genres to tailor their recommendations.
